Dr. Palmer received her medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine. She then completed an Internal Medicine residency followed by a Radiology residency. In 1997, Dr. Palmer joined the USC Department of Radiology, where she completed her Body Imaging and Interventional Fellowship. She is currently Professor of Clinical Radiology and Medicine and Chief of the Body Imaging Division.
Dr. Palmer has advanced training in computerized tomography, ultrasound, and magnetic resonance imaging. Her main area of interest is MRI with a special focus on chronic liver disease, including MR elastography and fat quantification; prostate imaging for early diagnosis of high-grade prostate cancer; bowel imaging, including enterography for inflammatory bowel disease; and dynamic pelvic floor imaging, enterography, and prostate imaging.
